EPF member PRO BAHN, a non-governmental organisation powered by volunteers advocating for public transport users in Germany, recently honored ALLRAIL Secretary General Nick Brooks with its Annual Passenger Award, in recognition of Nick’s unwavering commitment and tireless effort to improving rail passengers’ experiences, advancing passenger rights and the implementation of Full Transparency and Mandatory Through Tickets policies.

Detlef Neuß, Chair of PRO BAHN, expressed their admiration for Nick Brooks’s advocacy: “Since we have known him, Nick Brooks has been fighting for the removal of barriers to rail ticketing. ALLRAIL and Nick Brooks are our staunch allies when it comes to through tickets and passenger rights. Together we are working to make the railways easier to use and for passengers to feel safe in the event of irregularities.”

In response to receiving the award, Nick Brooks conveyed his gratitude, stating: “We are thrilled and honored to receive this award. It is a testament to our dedication to enhancing rail travel. Despite the huge amount of taxpayer funding that it receives, passenger rail’s market share is still just 5,5% of ground transport. It is only when the sector starts putting the passengers first that we will finally achieve modal shift to rail.”
