Today, EPF co-signed a statement, jointly with Age Platform Europe, the European Disability Forum (EDF), ECC France and Germany, and BEUC, calling on Member States to clarify, uphold and make more easily enforceable the Air Passenger Rights Regulation, and not diminish key consumer rights. We are very concerned that the current negotiations would roll back important passenger rights.Β
π Extraordinary Circumstances: alignment with European Court of Justice (CJEU) case law is fundamental
π Compensation after a 3-hour flight delay should remain the rule
π Choosing a refund should not deprive passengers of their compensation rights
π Expanding the scope of the Regulation must not erode protection for βconnected flightsβ
π Better information obligation shall not lead to legal loopholes
π Rerouting and Reimbursement: passengers must have a real right to choose
π βNo-Showβ clauses are unfair and should banned, not legitimised
π Full compensation is due when mobility equipment is lost or damaged
