We are pleased to announce the publication of the EPF 2025 Annual Conference Report, offering an overview of discussions, insights, and outcomes from event held on 13–14 June 2025 at the STEAM Museum in Swindon, UK.
This year’s conference brought together stakeholders from across Europe, including passenger organisations, public transport operators, policymakers, researchers, and civil society to engage in a timely and critical dialogue on the future of public transport in Europe.
Our Panel Discussions Sparked Lively Debate on:
- Back to state operated public transport? From deregulation back to regulation particularly drawing on the British experience;
- Ticketing and information from regional to crossing the channel (not only Eurostar, also sea links and coach);
- Women in transport;
- Focus on the passenger? The work programme of the new EU Commission.
Key Highlights from the Programme:
- Keynote speeches by Pierpaolo Settembri (European Commission) and Elisabeth Kotthaus (European Commission) on cross-border rail, digitalisation, and legislative priorities;
- Panel discussions exploring public/private models, ticketing interoperability, and gender equity in transport;
- A hands-on InclusiveSpaces workshop on universal design and accessibility;
- Case studies on inclusive communication, passenger feedback tools, and innovative local mobility pilots;
- Networking dinner, a guided tour of the STEAM Museum and an excursion to Avebury.
