EPF is a partner in the H2020 project HiReach, which aims to tackle transport poverty by triggering new innovative mobility solutions to address the needs of vulnerable social groups and areas.

We are happy to announce the publication of the second issue of the HiReach newsletter. This issue presents the main findings of the HiReach project so far.

HiReach has conducted fieldwork studies in six different countries, covering a large range of social layers and geographical diversity (urban, peri-urban and rural). It is the first time such fieldwork results have been obtained for the mobility needs of various vulnerable groups. These results – and the discussions that followed within the HiReach Take-up Group – are extremely valuable as we move forward to the next stage of the project.

Another important milestone achieved by the project is that the HiReach team has reviewed relevant existing European and worldwide initiatives, research results, business cases and projects. In particular, we scrutinized twenty handpicked transport solutions to understand their accomplishments (and limitations), analysed their business models, original management solutions as well as social and technological innovations.
